STORMHOUSE BREWERY - BREWERY NUMBER 2

Image
The second brewery that I visited this year is: STORMHOUSE BREWING 1201 US 1, #15 North Palm Beach, FL 33408 561/323-4172 Stormhouse Brewing - Brewery Restaurant in North Palm Beach, FL January 4, 2023 For my review, and for rankings, the scale is:  (1) beer quality (taste) (1-20); (2) beer quantity (number available) (1-10); (3) beer varietals (differing types) (1-10); (4) atmosphere (look, feel and vibe) (1-20); (5) service (self-explanatory - hopefully) (1-20); and  (6) miscellaneous (personal preference) (1-20).  This will give me a 100 point scale to reference, and I will keep a running ranking of each of the breweries throughout the year. Another brewery that is fairly close to home, I frequent this place fairly often.  Stormhouse is a brewpub, with a full kitchen, so you can come hungry and still be well pleased at its elevated bar food menu.  A large open, semi-circular shape, with glass all along the front between a patio section and the inside.  Lots of televisions to watch

This is the closest brewery to my house, so I have have frequented it farily often since it opened just prior to the Covid restrictions being implemented in March 2020, and yes, it has still survived.  You enter through a normal, everyday front door, but the entire front of the restaurant is a glass window so you can see into t

13.  Heineken - Original Malt Lager - Heineken Brouwerijen B.V. - Amsterdam, Holland - 5% ABV - 19 IBU It's Heineken.  Nothing more (for sure); nothing less.  But it worked for an outdoor afternoon watching polo in between bourbons. 14.  Octoberfest - Marzen - Samuel Adams Brewing - Boston, MA - 5.3% ABV - 15 IBUs So, having quick dinner after polo at a restaurant that was close, and they had bud, light, miller light, blue moon, yuengling (which was out) and this one, so a late season Octoberfest it was.  Always reliable and always good, but unfortunately I could not pair it with a brat. 3.  A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' - Ale (Wheat IPA) - Lagunitas Brewing - Petaluma, CA - 7.5% ABV - 52 IBUs This is one of my favorite beers to order, and to drink.  Seriously, just say it!!!  It is delicious.  The big question is under what category to rank it.  I am going to put it in the ale section, why, because it isn't fully hoppy enough in taste to be a full IPA, and definitely not just a pure wheat.  Does this make sense?  Probably not, but it is my rankings, and Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale sounds good.  Fruity notes with hoppy bitterness?  Shoots to number 1 - at least for now. 4.  Hop Commander - Double IPA - Captain Lawrence Brewing - Elmsford, NY - 6.5% ABV - 65 IBUs A solid, but not great Double IPA.  Not super bitter for a double, and I am looking for that extra bitterness to really set a great double IPA apart.  I would drink it again, though. 5.  Better Than Never - Hazy IPA - Deviant Wolfe Brewing - Sanford, FL - 5.9 ABV - 38 IBUs This was remarkably delicio

First Beers of the New Year - 2023!!!

So, welcome back to my yearly beer blog, where I list, and rate, my beer consumption for the year.  Last year went haywire with regard to my updating the blog, as I saw I only did my first introductory post, so I am going to make sure I last a lot longer this year - hopefully going through the end of the year!!!  Yesterday was NFL Sunday on January 1, so definitely beer consumption, but once I found the bar had one specific beer on tap, I stayed with it.  So, only two entries! 1.  Beach, Boat Repeat - Blonde Ale - Civil Society Brewing - Jupiter, FL  4.9% ABV - No IBU A nice, easy drinking blonde.  Not a ton of flavor, at least not today, but I am not sure how long the cans have been sitting in this particular bar - as they were also still serving Leininkugel's Summar Shandy.  I have had this before from the tap at the brewery itself, and liked it a lot more than yesterday.  For now, a C-.  But, in any case I am just happy to be starting off local. 2.  Toasted Lager - Lager - Blue

First Beers of the New Year - 2022!!!

So, welcome back to my yearly beer blog, where I list, and rate, my beer consumption for the year.  Last year went haywire with regard to my updating the blog, so let's see how long we can last in 2022.  Not much beer yesterday, but I did get started with a couple! 1.  Sunrise City - IPA - Sailfish Brewing - Ft. Pierce, FL - 7.0% ABV - 77 IBUs This beer hits you with an immediate bitterness, not overwhelming, but it does cover whatever other flavors may be present.  I will have this again, mainly because a couple of locations do not offer better (unless their menus change), but I will not go looking for it.  C- 2.  Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale - Lagunitas Brewing - Petaluma, CA - 7.5%ABV - 64.2 IBUs This is a wheated ale, that is simply delicious.  AND, so much fun to say.  I will have this often.  A Ales 1.  Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale - Lagunitas Brewing - Petaluma, CA Pale Ales IPAs 1.  Sunrise City IPA - Sailfish Brewing - Ft. First Beers of the Year January 1 - January 21

Hello 2021, and welcome to my first beers of the year!  For those that missed my last post, I will be starting over, and trying to keep a better job of posting more regularly, for even though I keep a running list of beers I drink, the memory fades over time as to the specifics regarding each beer, and I want this blog to be comprehensive (at least comprehensive for me.)  So, that being said, here is the first installment of beers of the 2021. 1. Jai Alai - IPA - Cigar City Brewing - Tampa, FL - 7.5% ABV, 65 IBU, 17 SRM Obviously, this is the best beer that I have had to date!!!  Ha!  Ha!  I feel like at this point Cigar City is a pretty well known brewery, so I don't need to discuss too much, but this is a very good IPA heavey on flavor, with a crisp finish. 2.  Blood Orange Belgian Wit - Shipward Brewing - St. Petersburg, FL - 5.1% ABV, 15 IBU, 5 SRM This beer is absolutely delicious!  A lot of flavor, but still light and crisp.  This beer would be amazing with a nice grilled dol
