February 4 - February 7
Been a busy week, largely due to a trip to a local brewery, an MLS soccer team/fan group pre-season party and trivia night at a great beer bar/art gallery (meaning lots of beer choices).
I feel like everyone should know this.

52. Smithwick's Irish Red Ale - Guinness Brewing - Dublin, Ireland - 4.5% ABV
I feel like everyone should know this.
53. Hops for Teacher IPA - J. Wakefield Brewing - Miami, FL - 7% ABV
With a name like this, the beer has "Got it made, got it made, got it made". Very delicious IPA that I would definitely have again, only hurting a bit because I have had some already delicious IPAs this year.
54. Dale's Pale Ale - Oskar Blues - Boulder, CO - 6.5% ABV
As far as so-called craft beers go, this is a classic having first been distributed in 2002. I honestly ordered it because I have always liked it and I have not had it in a couple of years (I am guessing). Easy, refreshing, and a good change from the usually stronger beers I ordinarily drink. Would be great for a picnic.
55. Boomsauce Double IPA - Lord Hobo Brewing - Woburn, MA - 7.8% ABV
A very heavy double IPA, with a bit of a citrus - or at least some type of fruity - finish. When I say heavy I just mean this is one with strong flavors, and not easy to guzzle, or down quickly. This is a beer if you want flavor, not just to drink because you are thirsty. Plus, I get to write "Woburn", but pronounce it the Massachusetts way in my head.
56. St. Bernardus ABT 12 Belgian Quad - Brouwerij St. Bernardus NV - Trappistenweg, Belgium - 10% ABV
Probably the first Belgian Quad I ever had oh-so-many years ago, and it still holds up. Very strong, lots of flavor. Great dark colour contrasted with an ivory head, and what a good taste!
57. Roundhouse Red - Steamhorse Brewing - West Palm Beach, FL 5.7% ABV
This delicious red has more flavor than its cousin - Finn McCool from Twisted Trunk, which means I am drinking it and not thinking about describing it.
58. Knockabout IPA - Steamhorse Brewing - West Palm Beach, FL - 6.4% ABV
A good, solid IPA. Not spectacular, but solid. Its lightness, for an IPA, would allow me to drink more of this than I probably should. This brewery has much better selections, however, so I won't.
59. Don't Doubt the Stout - Steamhorse Brewing - West Palm Beach - 7.0% ABV
This is a great stout, with a strong start with heavy flavors, but I really light easy finish, which makes you want to - and able to - drink more. If not for the fact I wanted to sample more beers from this brewery while I was there, I would have stopped here and kept ordering this one.
60. Boujee Berry Raspberry Wheat - Steamhorse Brewing - West Palm Beach - 5.6% ABV
Very, berry good (sorry for the pun). (Who am I kidding, no I am not sorry). A bit more raspberry flavor than most - but that is actually good, as it still does not overwhelm the beer. This was a nice refresher coming after the stout, and is something I think I could drink a lot at the beach or pool. Would be great with a crisp grilled chicken salad, or I would enjoy it with a nice chicken quesadilla as well.
61. Coco Vin Rouge Imperial Stout - Steamhorse Brewing - West Palm Beach - 10.5% ABV
Now this was surprising. Not sure why I was surprised because the Don't Doubt the Stout was delicious and the name contains "Coco Vin Rouge", but the chocolate/red wine finish was absolutely amazing.. I hope they keep this one in high rotation!!!
62. Brew Free or Die IPA - 21st Amendment Brewing - San Leandro, CA - 7.0% ABV
A really good IPA, which finished off my Friday perfectly. Just the right amount of hoppy, bitterness so that you know you are drinking a true IPA, not one in name only. Plus, speaking of name, can you get any better than 21st Amendment and/or Brew Free or Die? If so, not by much.
