Welcome to my Beer Blog!

For years, I have kept a list of each different and distinct beer I have consumed during each calendar year.  After my wife kept asking me what on earth I was doing with that list each year (other than just keeping a running tally), I have decided to catalog, discuss, and rate each of the different beers for 2020.  In addition to my ratings, I will keep a running ranking of each beer by category:  IPAs, stouts, wheats, whites, browns, ambers, souts, etc.

In addition, I will be discussing the many different breweries that I hope to visit this year, and rate them on beer quality (taste) (1-20), beer quantity (number available) (1-10), beer varietals (differing types) (1-10), atmosphere (look, feel and vibe) (1-20), service (self-explanatory - hopefully) (1-20) and miscellaneous (personal preference) (1-20).  This will give me a 100 point scale to reference, and I will keep a running ranking of each of the breweries throughout the year.

I understand that taste is completely subjective, so I don't expect you to agree with me, but I do hope that you enjoy my journey with me.

I did have a few beers while I was out of town for the New Year, so I will be updating with some local Memphis brews soon.

Another brewery that is fairly close to home, I frequent this place fairly often.  Stormhouse is a brewpub, with a full kitchen, so you can come hungry and still be well pleased at its elevated bar food menu.  A large open, semi-circular shape, with glass all along the front between a patio section and the inside....

COASTAL KARMA BREWING - BREWERY NUMBER 1

 The first brewery that I visited this year is: COASTAL KARMA BREWING 796 10th Street, Suite 798 Lake Park, FL 33403 561/2491491 Coastal Karma Brewing | Now Open | Lake Park, FL (coastalkarmabrewery.com) January 3, 2023 For my review, and for rankings, the scale is:  (1) beer quality (taste) (1-20); (2) beer quantity (number available) (1-10); (3) beer varietals (differing types) (1-10); (4) atmosphere (look, feel and vibe) (1-20); (5) service (self-explanatory - hopefully) (1-20); and  (6) miscellaneous (personal preference) (1-20).  This will give me a 100 point scale to reference, and I will keep a running ranking of each of the breweries throughout the year. This is the closest brewery to my house, so I have have frequented it farily often since it opened just prior to the Covid restrictions being implemented in March 2020, and yes, it has still survived.  You enter through a normal, everyday front door, but the entire front of the restaurant is a glass wind...

First Beers of the New Year - 2022!!!

So, welcome back to my yearly beer blog, where I list, and rate, my beer consumption for the year.  Last year went haywire with regard to my updating the blog, so let's see how long we can last in 2022.  Not much beer yesterday, but I did get started with a couple! 1.  Sunrise City - IPA - Sailfish Brewing - Ft. Pierce, FL - 7.0% ABV - 77 IBUs This beer hits you with an immediate bitterness, not overwhelming, but it does cover whatever other flavors may be present.  I will have this again, mainly because a couple of locations do not offer better (unless their menus change), but I will not go looking for it.  C- 2.  Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale - Lagunitas Brewing - Petaluma, CA - 7.5%ABV - 64.2 IBUs This is a wheated ale, that is simply delicious.  AND, so much fun to say.  I will have this often.  A Ales 1.  Lil Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale - Lagunitas Brewing - Petaluma, CA Pale Ales IPAs 1.  Sunrise City IPA - Sailfish Brewing - Ft.
